A Locksmith for Alicante Holiday Rental Hosts and Managers
Your guest is on the landing at eleven at night with a key box that will not open, and you are in another country. One call, your authorisation, the door opened, and a photo on your phone afterwards.
A market that has grown fast and then been frozen
Alicante has around 4,108 registered tourist dwellings, more than a fifth up on the year before, and 53 blocks of tourist apartments registered since 2023. Since 13 January 2025 the city has suspended new holiday-let licences for two years.
For a host that means the licence you already have is worth protecting. A guest who spends the first night on a doorstep writes the review that sticks.
What we handle for hosts
- Guest lockouts, opened on your authorisation, any hour
- Key boxes that have jammed, lost their code or been forced
- Cylinder changes between bookings when a key has not come back
- Stiff or worn locks fixed before they strand a guest
- Communal doors that guests cannot work out, checked and explained
Tell your guests these three things
They cost nothing and stop most late-night calls.
- Which phase and block
In Urbanova, each of the eight phases is a separate private urbanisation. A pin on the right gate saves the guest and the locksmith half an hour.
- Where the van stops
In Santa Cruz no car reaches the door. Guests arriving by taxi with luggage need to know which street to be dropped at.
- How the street door works
Many blocks have a street door with its own key or code. Write down which key is which, with a photo.

More on setting up check-in so it does not fail: key handover for Alicante holiday lets. For a lock change between stays, see cylinder replacement; and for a lockout that is not a rental, the urgent call-out page. Managers with several properties can write to us from the contact page.
Questions from hosts and managers
- My guest is locked out and I am abroad. Can you open the door on my say-so?
- Yes. You confirm by phone or WhatsApp that the guest is booked into the property, ideally with the booking reference, and we open. You get a photo of the open door and of anything we find wrong with the lock.
- Who pays when a guest calls you directly?
- Whoever the host and guest agree. We will not open for a guest without the host’s or manager’s authorisation, and we confirm who is paying before we set off.
- Should I change the lock after every season?
- Not after every season, but whenever a key has not come back, a cleaner or agency changes, or you cannot say who holds a copy. Many hosts keep a spare cylinder in the property so a change takes minutes.
- Can you fit a smart lock or a key box?
- We fit mechanical locks and cylinders and key boxes, and we can advise on where a key box should and should not go. Electronic access systems need their own installer and app support.
